Integrity is aligning your inner life and outward life into a seamless whole person.
Psalm 24:3-5 describes the relationship between your inner and outer life and those who will receive a blessing from the Lord.
“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His Holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false God. They will receive a blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.” -Psalm 24:3-5
Inward
Integrity begins from within and is based on holiness and sincerity. God desires you to have a pure heart. You can look like you have outward integrity, but your actions and thoughts can actually be coming from a place of greed and pride.
Outward
Integrity includes your behaviour, which is to be blameless. The Psalmist describes this as clean hands and a truthful mouth. You should do nothing to cause others to stumble, nor do anything that is in contrast with God’s character and Word.
Jesus modeled integrity for you by living a whole life in which His inner life and outer life were consistent. To be whole in Christ is to live a life in which your beliefs, attitudes, words, and actions are consistent with God and His nature.
Where do you need to grow in integrity? Is it in your inner life or your outer life or both?
