What is integrity? In simple terms, integrity is being the same in heart, mind, and actions. Integrity is about who you are as a person, the commitments you stand on, and actions which are consistent with the first two elements.
To have integrity as a Christian is to conform your heart, mind, and actions with God and His examples and teachings in the Bible, rather than to live based on your own desires or perceptions. It means to stand in the truth of God’s Words even if doing so may cost you greatly. And, it means living your life as exemplified by our Savior, Jesus.
The apostle John wrote,
Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did. 1 John 2:6
Your actions must be consistent with God’s command for integrity to live as Jesus did.
Only one person, Jesus, did this perfectly, and God offers us grace when we fail so we can repent, and by His power, move forward toward a life of integrity.
