One interesting point of our society is that there is an entire industry solely devoted to providing help for those who need it, when they need it: customer service. Customer Service, also referred to as “the help desk,” may or may not always be helpful, but it is almost guaranteed that at some point every person has tried using customer service to solve a problem they could not solve on their own.
Call The Experts
It makes sense. Our society is filled with many complexities, so it is impossible to be an expert on all of them. From time to time, we need to consult someone who knows more about a particular field than we do. Whenever the need arises, we “call the experts,” and hope they can provide the assistance we need.
The case is true about our lives as well. Life is complex and can be difficult at times. It is not always easy to know what to do or how to respond. There will be many circumstances in which we will need an expert. We need someone who is capable, available, and willing to help us with whatever the current problem may be. We need a Help Desk for life.
The Help Desk For Life
Thankfully, we are offered one. In Jesus, we have “technical support” for life, and He is available every minute of the day. The “Help Desk” is the One who is “the creator of the ends of the earth” (Isaiah 40:28). He has said that He is a “present help in time of trouble” (Psalm 46:1). He is One who is “with us always” and “never leaves us nor forsakes us” (Deuteronomy 31:6). He knows us intimately and perfectly with unlimited knowledge and power. He has given us His Word, which is altogether true and reliable, and He has given us His presence through the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and be our teacher and our guide.
The Lord is the “Help Desk” we all need, and He delights in fulfilling that need for us. He tells us to “cast our cares upon Him,” and to “call to Him and He will answer” (1 Peter 5:7). Do not sit in uncertainty, wondering how to live and what to do in life. There is “a very present help in time of trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Call to Jesus, look to Jesus, come to Jesus. He is there, and He will help.
