Has God ever completely interrupted your life to deliver you a message? What did you do with that message?
Consider what happened to the shepherds the night Jesus was born. It was an ordinary evening just like the thousands of nights before this one. Stars covered the night sky. The sheep were securely gathered together as the shepherds settled into their evening routine of nighttime conversation. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord stood before them. Raw fear gripped the shepherds until they heard the words, “Do not be afraid.” The angel continued,
"I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:10-12
More angels appeared and began singing “Glory to God in the highest.” And then, they were gone. The shepherds went straight to Bethlehem to see the baby, the Messiah, and returned afterwards to their flocks praising God for all they had heard and seen.
