Today, we begin a new series on family priority, the place where we experience great blessing, but also, deep heartache. Our question for you:
Is family a priority in your life?
Family is the foundation for all cultures and originates from the Bible. From Genesis to Malachi, from Matthew to Revelation, God consistently uses family illustrations to describe His relationship with the human race. God originally designed the family to be a place of blessing and a reflection of the Trinity, however, the consequences of sin have negatively impacted family structures.
In Matthew 22:36-40, Jesus was asked, “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied,
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Your first neighbor is your family, which is a critical place for your love and influence. The core value for this series states that God is looking for men and women who are convinced the family is God’s building block for society and make their family a priority in their lives.
