ONE HUNDRED NATIONS

Several years ago John Wesley, the leader of a revival that changed England in the seventeenth century said:

"Give me one hundred persons who fear nothing but sin, and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergy or lay; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on Earth."

IT CAME TRUE

John Wesley and his “one hundred persons” did change history for countless people around the world. One hundred committed, empowered, and equipped leaders can indeed change the world. At the beginning of 2015, ILI’s global leaders gathered in Houston, TX and envisioned  something even greater. If God can change history with "one hundred persons," what He would do with one hundred teams of passionate men and women who were committed to changing history by accelerating the spread of the Gospel through leaders of leaders empowered by the Holy Spirit. That dream inspired the 100 Nations Initiative, ILI’s vision to establish one hundred national teams of leaders who are mobilized to train others and multiplying the Eight Core Values in their nation.

The History of ILI and The Multiplication of Leaders

The first ILI International leadership Conference, held in 2001 had 21 leaders from 17 countries. Soon multiplication began and less than one year later, teams of leaders were formed to multiply the Eight Core Values in diverse countries like Kenya, Ghana, Paraguay, and India. As more alumni invested in training and mobilizing leaders to reach their nations with the Gospel, additional teams were formed. By 2015, there were 41 national teams of volunteers that were mobilized to equip leaders and multiplying the Eight Core Values. In addition to that, we had alumni in 78 countries of the world. The challenge was set before us. To identify 59 of the highest potential countries and help national Christian leaders build teams that were mobilized and multiplying the ILI vision and the Eight Core Values, with the result that more people were reached with the
Gospel until the end of 2020.

It is now 2018 and we are at the midpoint of our vision. The 41 teams have worked hard to accelerate the level of training and to launch new national ILI teams. Today, 70 countries of the world have mobilized teams that are multiplying leadership. The goal for the year 2018 is to reach 80, and then add at least ten new teams per year in the next two years.

The finish line is within reach, but as with every race, the final stretch requires the most effort. For the next three years, we need “all hands on deck.” We are confident this vision is from God. He will continue to provide the resources and guide us until the task is completed and one hundred nations of the world have passionate and committed teams of leaders who are accelerating the spread of the Gospel.
