THE SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE IS A THANKFUL LIFE

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful and showing appreciation. It is a mark of the Spirit-filled life.

Paul writes to the Ephesian Church and says,

“Be filled with the Spirit . . . always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father.

Ephesian 5:18-20

Are you living a thankful life? Do you take time to thank God and others for the many kindnesses they have shown you? Gratitude releases love and engages the Spirit of God within your life.

My family has a tradition that was started by my grandmother and has existed for four generations. Each year we gather on the third Thursday of November to give thanks to God. We remember the previous generations and celebrate God’s mercy and goodness.

Gratitude is not always automatic. It needs to be cultivated and developed in your life. Take some time this week to be intentionally thankful to God,  your family, and your friends.

Dare to ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit so you can live a grateful life,
