The first Sunday in November marks the day that Christians around the world will unite through prayer for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP). This day calls all believers to pause, pray, and stand in solidarity with the millions of brothers and sisters in Christ facing intense persecution that consists of social exclusion, imprisonment, loss of employment, and even death, simply for their faith in Jesus.
“Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them. Remember those who are suffering, as though you were suffering as they are” - Hebrews 13:3
Today, over 365 million Christians live under significant persecution—imprisoned, isolated, even risking their lives to worship. Yet, their faith remains unshaken, a beacon of resilience and devotion.
With prayer as ILI's first strategy for equipping leaders, your prayers provide a lifeline, bringing hope, strength, and courage to these believers who are part of our spiritual family.
How You Can Pray:
Pray for comfort and strength for those “afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).
Ask for courage and confidence in Christ’s victory over all things (John 16:33).
Pray that believers enduring persecution may find joy and steadfastness in their trials (James 1:2-3).
Seek boldness for them to proclaim the gospel, drawing others to God through their witness (Acts 4:29).
Together, we become part of a global movement interceding for the persecuted believers, reminding them they are not alone—providing a hope that fuels perseverance.
Every advancement of the Gospel requires prayer. Will you join our special prayer team? Together, we can cover the nations and each other in prayers to our Heavenly Father.
