September 4, 1989... Joy woke me in the early morning hours and said,
“I feel something.”
It was the beginning of labor, and by that evening, we were holding our first child, a beautiful daughter. Then, two years later, God gave us a handsome son
Mother’s Day is celebrated on different days around the world, and this Sunday is Mother’s Day in the USA. This week, I want to honor my wife, Joy, the mother of our two children and the person who has given her life to love, nurture, educate, disciple, and raise our children to adulthood.
Proverbs 31:28-31 perfectly describes her,
Her children will arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
