StandING with the Persecuted Church
Starting November 1, join ILI in praying for believers and local Christian leaders facing persecution. Hear their stories, learn how God is at work, and pray for the strength they need to continue.
We call this day the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).
Across Nigeria, North Africa, South Asia, and regions where ILI serves, Christian leaders are sharing the Gospel and caring for their communities amid opposition.
They are our brothers and sisters. Some face threats, rejection, or violence because they follow Jesus. Yet they continue making disciples, strengthening churches, and raising up other leaders.
ILI comes alongside these leaders with biblical training and encouragement to help them fulfill their God-given calling.
This November, lets joing together in praying for their families, their ministries, and the people they are seeking to reach.
Following Jesus Can Come at a Cost
For some Christians, faith in Jesus brings rejection from family, exclusion from their community, or the loss of work. Others face threats, violence, or imprisonment.
These pressures affect how believers worship, raise their children, earn a living, and share their faith.
Scripture calls us to remember those who are imprisoned and mistreated. As members of one body in Christ, we have a responsibility and a privilege to stand with them in prayer.
“Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”
“If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.”
LEADING FAITHFULLY EVEN IN THE FACE OF FEAR
Local Christian leaders continue caring for people, making disciples, and sharing the Gospel amid opposition. ILI comes alongside leaders with biblical training that strengthens their leadership and helps them put God-given vision into action.
A STORY FROM NORTHERN AFRICA
In a North African country where the Gospel is illegal, a new believer was baptized during an ILI training event. He went home and led his entire family to Christ, and they were baptized together at Christmas. "One by one, they went under the water; one by one they came out." He now leads a house church that reaches 15 families.
