Today, we had the privilege of hosting an exciting Facebook Live event when we shared the results of the ILI training in 2018 with the world. My privilege was sharing the big training numbers. Joy Griffin, ILI’s founder and international director shared about equipping leaders in some of the neediest regions of Africa recently. ILI’s CEO, Wes Griffin talked about the seven outcomes of equipping leaders to spread the Gospel and cast God’s vision for our movement in the next five years. Honestly, it will take bold obedience to accomplish them.
Bold Obedience
As a global movement, ILI is the result of bold obedience in God. The team of leaders who founded ILI twenty years ago were responding boldly in obedience to God’s calling to accelerate the spread of the Gospel. Our mission would be to train and mobilize leaders of leaders. Today, the ILI alumni who took the bold initiative to lead one of the 962 training events in 83 countries of the world last year were being obedient to God’s word spoken through Paul to Timothy.
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.
Awesome Results
It started with 21 leaders trained in November of 2001. That one event multiplied year after year, into an amazing 6,706 training events (and counting). Our global family of alumni keeps growing and should surpass 300 thousand leaders sometime this year.
Transformational Results
More important than the numbers is the transformation in the lives of each one who embraces the Eight Core Values. A recent research commissioned by ILI showed some encouraging results about the result of the training. Here are some of the findings:
The Eight Core Values: Alumni overwhelmingly reported statistically significant growth in each of the Core Values that ILI teaches.
Deep Impact: The vast majority of respondents told us that the training had a significant impact in their lives.
Reaching the Lost: 79% saw more people becoming followers of Jesus Christ in their ministry after being equipped with the Eight Core Values.
Making Disciples: 82% saw more believers growing inwardly and outwardly as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Serving those in Need: 82% also reported that people in need are being served with more effectiveness now, as a result of the training.
As a team, we can’t help but rejoice in the results and the lasting impact that our training is having on leaders around the world. Every one of those men and women want to make a difference in the Kingdom of God, and it is exciting to help them get there.

One-man bands do it all, but the biblical image of leadership is not about star performers, but more like conductors of an orchestra. Are you conducting a healthy team?
